The Catalan Network of Smoke free Hospitals has expanded since 1999 onwards, the model of Smoke free Hospital based on the measures of the Global Network for Tobacco Free Health Care Centers (ENSH) in order to achieve smoke free hospitals.

The Catalan Network has been connected to the European one from its beginnings, leading and representing the regional networks of smoke free hospitals within Spain.

The Catalan Network of Smoke free Hospitals, supported by the Public Health Department of the Catalan government, has extended the model “Smoke free Hospital” throughout the public hospitals in Catalonia.
